Düde Dürst
21.11.1946

He has Zurich in his veins. He was born in this pulsating Swiss city, attended the School of Arts and Crafts, completed his apprenticeship as a graphic artist and still resides here today. His musical career began in 1963 with the beat band The Starlights, later called The Counts. With the Counts he made his first record "Swiss Beat Live" in 1965. At the end of 1965 he joined Les Sauterelles (Swiss Beatles), the most popular Swiss beat band at that time, and became a professional musician. At the end of 1968 he left them and, together with Hardy Hepp, founded the first Swiss progressive rock band Krokodil, which became known far beyond the borders. In 1971 Düde produced a solo album, which achieved considerable success. After the breakup of Krokodil in 1975, he worked as a popular session and studio musician with Carl Perkins (TV show), Klaus Doldinger, Max Lässer, Rainer Brüninghaus, among others. He was a band member and bandleader of various live projects like Feelin' Good, Jo Geilo Heartbreakers, Ruby's Place, Smile etc. Besides his learned profession as a graphic designer, Düde also worked as a producer and coordinator for bigger projects (Hardy Hepp, Dodo Hug,
Andreas Vollenweider etc.).

As a drummer and irreplaceable background singer, Düde was on the road from 1993 with the reunited Les Sauterelles, which disbanded after the death of their bassist Freddy Mangili at the end of 2021. Since 2009 there is his solo project Back To The Groove, with which he also toured live. Düde's current band is the newly formed Krokodil with Terry Stevens, Adi Weyermann, Erich Strebel and special guests Walty Anselmo and Hardy Hepp, with whom he has also been touring live since 2021. In addition, Düde drums and sings with the rock trio Flaming Pie with Adi Weyermann and Thomy Jordi, who interpret Beatles songs and more in their very own way. For 2022 performances at the Beatles Week in Liverpool are planned.
